Arthur Stewart, Lead Pastor
Arthur Stewart began serving as the Lead Pastor of North Baltimore Mennonite Church in May 2023. He loves people and cultures and is passionate about helping others discover their unique spirituality and living it well. Arthur grew up in California, and attended the Friends (Quaker) church, in which he was ordained. His ministry career has included pastoring, church planting, leading a neo-monastic missional community, spiritual direction, cross-cultural leadership training, organizational health and formation, teaching conflict and peacemaking, hospital chaplain, and running retreats and spirituality workshops. He has lived in Rwanda (1995) and South Africa (2003-2019), worked with Mennonite Central Committee, and helped establish the Anabaptist Network in South Africa. Prior to being at NBMC he was the Community Pastor at Willow Avenue Mennonite Church in Clovis, CA. While there, his ordination was affirmed and transferred to Mennonite Church USA.
Arthur has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical and Religious Studies (Fresno Pacific University), a Master’s of Divinity (Azusa Pacific University), and is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary).
Arthur married Margie in 2018 (two times – first in the USA, then in Cape Town, South Africa!). Together they’ve traveled, moved continents, and are currently pursuing adoption. They enjoy all sorts of music, board and card games, and being out in nature. Arthur loves soccer, pub quiz, and lawn bowls. Arthur also has three adult children: Skylar, Iain, and Mairin.

Ashley Hoard, Associate Pastor and Church Administrator
Ashley Hoard has been a member of North Baltimore Mennonite Church with her family since 2016. She has an undergraduate degree from Columbia International University with a double major in Bible and Music. She is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Ashley has also been our church’s administrative assistant since 2019 and the Friday night youth leader this past school year.
Ashley was raised in South Carolina and has been involved in ministry since she was a youth group member at her charismatic Southern Baptist church. Ashley was 16 when she had her first sense of call into ministry. She has lead music, taught Sunday School, been a youth leader, and a host of other things at several churches since then.
In 2015, Ashley and her wife Billie and family started to feel a nudge towards Anabaptist Theology and began attending North Baltimore. It was not long before they became involved with congregation life, attending the 2015 Church Retreat after coming to three services.
Ashley has a heart to see children and youth know the deep love of God and from the experience of that love to serve and love others. Contact Ashley at ashley@bmoremenno.org
